KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The remarkable “Shahin Al-Mughira”, owned by Rashid Al-Azmi, trained by Iyad Al-Farmawi, and ridden by Faisal Al-Farmawi, continued its winning streak in Arabian horse racing (Egyptian-blooded) by capturing the Al-Danat Stud Cup, owned by Mohammed Suleiman Al-Omar. The victory came in the seventh race for mixed Egyptian-blooded horses over 1,600 meters, finishing in 2:04.34 minutes, at the 12th meeting of the Kuwait Hunting and Equestrian Club.
The trophy was presented by Mohammed Suleiman Al-Omar, Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi (owner of Al-Raya Stud), and Sheikh Sabah Fahad Al-Nasser, Secretary General of the Supreme Equestrian Committee.
Al-Omar praised the Shooting and Equestrian Club for its continued support of Egyptian-blooded Arabian horses and lauded the efforts of Mohammed Jassim Al-Marzouq, honorary president of the Arab Horse Center “Beit Al-Arab,” Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi, and Sheikha Sara Al-Sabah in promoting equestrian sports.
In other highlights, “Siyah”, owned by Al-Zoubi, won the Late Sheikh Khalid Duaij Al-Sabah Cup for mixed horses over 1,600 meters in the sixth race, clocking 1:40.45 minutes. Meanwhile, “Al-Maqam”, owned by Al-Jaidiya, claimed the Late Sheikh Duaij Al-Sabah Cup for handicap horses over 2,400 meters in the fifth race, finishing in 2:37.52 minutes.
