KUWAIT CITY, Jan 6: The horse Shaheen Al-Mugheera, owned by Jazea Al-Azmi, delivered an impressive performance to win the Ayers Stud Owner’s Cup for Egyptian Arabian horses (C4), covering the 1,400-meter distance in 1:46.55 minutes. Trained by Iyad Al-Farmawi and ridden by Faisal Al-Farmawi, the victory came during the 10th race meeting at the Hunting and Equestrian Club.
The trophy was presented to the winners by Hussein Jaafar Al-Sayegh, owner of Ayers Stud, along with Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi, owner of Al-Raya Stud. Al-Roumi also handed a commemorative shield to Al-Sayegh on behalf of the President and members of the Higher Authority for Horse Racing, in the presence of Ali Al-Fahd, Director General of Racing at the club.
In other races, Ra‘i Al-Olya, owned by Al-Farmawi, captured the Sheikh Nasser Sabah Fahd Al-Nasser Cup (may God rest his soul) in the fifth race, completing the 1,400 meters in 1:30.13 minutes as part of the locally bred Triple Crown – First Stage.
Meanwhile, Thayer Al-Khafaq claimed first place in the sixth race, also designated for locally bred horses (Triple Crown – First Stage), clocking 1:35.93 minutes over the same distance.
Speaking after the races, Hussein Jaafar Al-Sayegh highlighted the historic stature of purebred Arabian horses of Egyptian lineage, noting that they are among the world’s oldest bloodlines and have long symbolized nobility, strength, beauty, and loyalty throughout Arab history.
