KUWAIT CITY, Dec 30: The horse “Shaheen Al-Mughaira,” owned by Jaza’a Al-Azmi, trained by Iyad Al-Farmawi, and ridden by Faisal Al-Farmawi, won the Al-Safinat Stud Cup, sponsored by breeder Khaled Fahad bin Shukr, after a strong performance in the fifth race for Egyptian novice horses (C4) over 1,600 meters during the ninth race meeting at the Hunting and Equestrian Club.
The trophy was presented by Bin Shukr alongside the Secretary General of the Hunting and Equestrian Club and Chairman of the Higher Authority for Horse Racing, Sheikh Sabah Fahad Al-Nasser. Bin Shukr also received a commemorative shield in the presence of Alaa Al-Roumi, owner of Al-Raya Stud.
In the sixth race, “Hamoud Al-Khair,” owned by Khaled Al-Otaibi, trained by Abdulrahman Shalih, and ridden by Alberto, captured the National Company for Tracks Cup for handicap horses over 1,600 meters, while “Al-Fahd 2” won the Hunting and Equestrian Club Cup over 1,800 meters.
The horses “Thaer Al-Khafaq,” “Ithar,” “Niagara Al-Mori,” and “Sutoo’ Al-Shams” secured victories in the Hunting and Equestrian Trophy races.
Bin Shukr reaffirmed his commitment to supporting purebred Arabian horses of Egyptian bloodlines, noting that horse-riding enthusiasts have united to back this discipline. He explained that the initiative included the organization of 25 cups at Hunting and Equestrian races, with total prize money exceeding KD 55,000, providing strong encouragement for participants to continue their impressive journey in the sport.
He concluded by thanking all those who have contributed to the development of equestrian sports, and expressed appreciation to the Hunting and Equestrian Club and the Higher Authority for Horse Racing for their continued support.
