Seven Stripped of Kuwaiti Citizenship Over Dual Nationality

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: The Supreme Committee for Citizenship Investigation has issued a decision to revoke the Kuwaiti citizenship of seven individuals after it was found that they held dual nationality.

According to a decision published in a special supplement of the official gazette, Kuwait Al-Youm on Thursday, the citizenship of the seven individuals was withdrawn in accordance with Article 11 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959. The article stipulates that Kuwaiti citizenship is lost if a person voluntarily acquires a foreign nationality.

The committee said the decision was taken as part of its ongoing review of citizenship cases, in line with the provisions of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law.
