SANAA, Aug 10: At least seven people were killed and 30 others wounded after Iran-aligned Houthi forces launched a missile and drone attack on Yemen’s Red Sea port city of al-Makha, a government military spokesman said.
Colonel Majid al-Nuzaili said the casualties included four soldiers and three civilians. He said the attack targeted both military and civilian sites, including power-generating stations.
The Houthis said they had targeted Saudi troops and weapons depots at the port, according to their statement.
The attack adds to growing tensions along Yemen’s Red Sea coast, where the Iran-aligned group has repeatedly targeted military and strategic sites amid the wider regional conflict.
