ROSTOV, Aug 29: Seven people were injured in a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s southern Rostov region, forcing the evacuation of residents from damaged apartment buildings, regional Governor Yuriy Slyusar said Saturday.
Four of the injured were hospitalized in Rostov-on-Don, with one person reported to be in serious condition following the overnight attack. Drone debris damaged two apartment buildings in the Proletarsky district, prompting emergency crews to move residents to a temporary shelter.
Authorities also reported drone fragments at a warehouse and a fire in a nearby forest belt in the Aksaysky district. Private homes were damaged in the Bagayevsky district, although no injuries were reported there. Slyusar said the drone threat remained active and urged residents to stay indoors and away from windows. Ukraine has not yet commented on the reported attack.
