Kuwait hangs 7 Convicts, Spares 1

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: The Ministry of Interior executed seven convicts at the Central Prison on Thursday, reports Al-Seyassah daily. This is a confirmation of the report that the newspaper published on Wednesday, and in accordance with the Quranic principle, “In retribution there is life for you, O people of understanding.”

The executed individuals included three Kuwaiti citizens, two Asians convicted of murder, and two others involved in drug trafficking. Among those executed were the killers of citizens Abdul Aziz Al-Zaatari and Ahmed Al-Jalal. Security sources revealed that the eighth convict received a pardon from the victims’ families a few hours before the execution, leading to the postponement of his execution pending completion of the necessary legal procedures based on the new development.

Sources indicated that the four Asians were two Bangladeshis convicted of murder and two Iranians convicted of drug trafficking. Sources confirmed the completion of all three stages of litigation before the final death sentences were issued. Meanwhile, social media users and influencers tried to raise KD2 million blood money hours before the execution of the convict identified as A.A., hoping to secure a settlement with the victim’s family. However, fate preceded their efforts, and the death sentence was carried out.
