LOS ANGELES, Nov 26: Sandra Levin, mother of music producer Benny Blanco and mother-in-law of singer-actress Selena Gomez, narrowly escaped harm during a break-in at her Los Angeles home Monday night, authorities said.

According to NBC Los Angeles, citing police sources, two masked men wearing dark clothing entered Levin’s Studio City residence around 9:30 p.m. through a sliding glass door. Levin reportedly heard the intruders, ran upstairs, and hid in a bathroom inside a bedroom.

Police said the intruders walked upstairs and opened the bedroom door. Levin, who peeked out, was spotted by the men, prompting them to flee the scene. It was not immediately clear whether the suspects were armed or if any property was taken. Levin could not be reached for comment.

Blanco, a prominent music producer known for working with top-selling artists, and Gomez were married in September. The incident drew comparisons to Gomez’s role as Mabel Mora on the hit mystery series Only Murders in the Building, in which she and co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short often hide from suspects in the fictional Arconia apartment building in Manhattan.

Police continue to investigate the break-in.
