LOS ANGELES, Nov 1, (Agencies): Selena Gomez’s unexpected announcement of a social media hiatus has left her fans in shock. The surprising news came during the Israel-Palestine conflict, creating a buzz on the internet.

With over 430 million followers on Instagram, the beloved singer and actress had fans puzzled by her sudden departure from the social media platform. Selena Gomez is known for her active presence on social media, making her recent inactivity all the more bewildering.

She pointed to the extreme violence against innocent people as a major source of distress.

In her Instagram story, Selena shared, “I’ve been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence, and terror that’s going on in the world. It is horrifying to see people tortured and killed, or any act of hatred directed at any one group. We must safeguard all people, especially children, and put an end to the violence.”

She also posted a picture of her little sister in the following story and expressed her sorrow, particularly regarding the violence against innocent children. She added, “I’m sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag; I just can’t stand by and watch innocent people get hurt. That’s what bothers me. I wish I had the power to change the world. However, a post will not be enough. Love, Selena.”

On the professional front, Selena Gomez was last seen in “Only Murders in the Building” Season 3 alongside renowned actress Meryl Streep. The Rare beauty entrepreneur is also occupied with her business ventures and an upcoming music album.
