KUWAIT CITY, June 27: According to informed security sources, the Ministry of Interior, based on instructions from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled and under his supervision, has completed all preparations for implementing the security plan set for Eid Al-Adha holidays with the aim of facilitating the movement on roads and the park lots before and during Eid Al-Adha holidays, reports Al-Anba daily. The ministry’s plan will involve the deployment of no less than 500 patrol officers affiliated to the Operations, Traffic, Rescue and Public Security sectors, especially on the roads leading to commercial areas and major complexes.

Meanwhile, the sources explained that the Port Security Affairs Sector is on standby and has been working at full capacity to facilitate travel procedures and accommodate the congestion expected in the middle of next week. The ports are witnessing intense movement in conjunction with the Eid al-Adha holidays and the Hajj season, requiring an active and effective security force, as promised by the Ministry of Interior, which implemented it precisely and specifically in all ports, especially Kuwait International Airport. The plan relies on providing security and traffic coverage in areas that witness intense crowd such as markets, commercial complexes, children’s parks, gymnasiums, theaters, entertainment venues, all exits and entrances to roads, and all main and secondary intersections of the aforementioned places in order to avoid congestion and traffic jams.

The plan also seeks to facilitate the movement at the entrances and exits, and in front of the mosques where Eid prayers will be held, and provide the necessary security elements in their surroundings in a way that reassures the worshipers. There is round-the-clock coordination between the security directorates and departments with competence in implementing the comprehensive security plan. The central general operations administration works as a link for all participating security agencies in providing assistance and support.

The sources highlighted that the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs provided the Ministry of Interior with the locations and names of mosques that worshipers frequent, in order to provide them with security personnel and to organize the traffic before and after prayer. They called on citizens and residents to cooperate with the public security officers who are exerting maximum efforts to implement security control procedures in areas that witness a massive public presence such as markets.
