Ministry of Interior’s efforts lead to 3 arrests and the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: In a relentless pursuit to combat the proliferation of drugs and psychotropic substances, security personnel continue their crackdown on drug dealers and smugglers. The latest success in this ongoing effort was achieved by the Criminal Security Sector, specifically the General Department of Narcotics Control (Local Control Department), as they apprehended three individuals involved in possession of a substantial quantity of illicit substances.

During targeted operations, the “control” arrested three individuals who were found in possession of 6 kilograms of various drugs, including crystal meth (shabu) and hashish, as well as 5 kilograms of Lyrica powder and a staggering 133,000 psychotropic pills. In addition to the narcotics, an unauthorized firearm was also seized in connection with the cases.

Upon interrogation, the apprehended individuals admitted their ownership of the seized items, acknowledging their intention to engage in trafficking and abuse. Subsequently, both the suspects and the confiscated items were handed over to the competent authority to initiate legal proceedings against them.

This significant development is part of the Ministry of Interior’s broader strategy to eradicate the drug trade, dismantle criminal networks, and safeguard society from the detrimental impact of narcotics. The commitment to enforcing stringent measures against drug-related activities remains a top priority for the security forces, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for the community.
