Security crackdown – 19 for deportation

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: Police officers from Ahmadi Security Command arrested two people in possession of 29 bottles of local alcohol and eight people involved in KD 48,000 financial case.

They also impounded 28 buggies and arrested two people on suspicion of stealing, issued 238 traffic citations and impounded 14 cars for various traffic offenses. All suspects and confiscated items were referred to concerned authorities for necessary measures.

Meanwhile, an Indian man was arrested in Shuwaikh Industrial Area by security operatives from the Capital for peddling in local alcohol. He was in possession of 10 bottles of the contraband.

19 for deportation: Officers from General Traffic Department issued 47,948 citations, seized 1,564 wanted vehicles, arrested 28 individuals who committed serious violations and referred 19 expatriates for deportation for driving without driving license. According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the officers had launched several sudden campaigns in all six governorates from Oct 18-24.

General Traffic Department affirmed the continuation of such sudden traffic campaigns to control traffic on main and internal roads, ensure the traffic rules and regulations are being followed and protect the lives of the Kuwaiti and expatriate road users
