KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: The Capital Governorate Security Directorate, in cooperation with Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, conducted a large-scale security campaign to strengthen security presence, apprehend wanted individuals and violators, and enforce the law, the Ministry of Interior said.
The campaign, which included security checkpoints and inspections, resulted in 678 actions, with the authorities taking legal measures against those arrested and referring them to the relevant authorities.
Violations and arrests included:
- 432 traffic violations issued.
- 72 individuals wanted in absconding cases arrested.
- 53 residency law violators arrested.
- 19 individuals wanted on criminal charges arrested.
- 16 undocumented workers arrested.
- 4 individuals wanted over debts arrested.
- 1 person arrested for forging official documents.
- 3 cases involving possession of alcohol seized.
- 1 vehicle wanted for judicial impoundment seized.
- 46 abandoned vehicles removed.
- 1 street vendor arrested.
- 14 security checkpoints established.
- 1 unlicensed men's salon closed in cooperation with Kuwait Municipality.
On Failaka Island, authorities arrested 11 individuals for transporting and selling fish from vehicles and on roads that did not meet the required health and safety standards, in cooperation with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.
Authorities also arrested 7 people found in possession of four hunting weapons.
The Ministry of Interior said the campaign forms part of ongoing security efforts to apprehend violators, enforce the law and maintain public safety.
