Liquor, drugs found in massive crackdown on Kabad desert vice

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: A coordinated security operation was recently conducted in the Kabad desert areas, led by the Criminal Security Sector through the Jahra Criminal Investigation Department, in collaboration with the Kuwait Municipality and the Jahra Security Directorate, which is part of the Security Directorates Sector.

According to a press release issued recently by the Ministry of Interior, the campaign is part of an integrated security plan aimed at intensifying ongoing field operations, with the primary objectives of apprehending law violators and removing unauthorized encroachments on state property. The operation is part of continuous efforts to maintain and enhance public order. The campaign was supervised by the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major General Hamed Al-Dawwas.

Several senior officials, including Director General of Kuwait Municipality Manal Al-Asfour, the Director General of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the Assistant to the Director General for Search and Investigation Affairs at Border Crossings, the Assistant Director General for Governorate Affairs, and the Director of Jahra Criminal Investigation Department. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 611 bottles of liquor, five liters of ethanol, 280 grams of methamphetamine, 1.5 kilograms of marijuana, 20 grams of hashish, 363 Lyrica tablets, and two precision scales.

In addition, 16 vehicles linked to wanted individuals were seized, and five people wanted in connection with various cases, and three individuals suspected of being under the influence of drugs were arrested, along with one missing person, one individual violating residency and labor laws, and one person for failing to carry proper identification. Drug paraphernalia was also confiscated during the campaign, and several illegal camps erected on state-owned land were removed. All necessary legal measures were taken against the violators, and all seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
