LOS ANGELES, Nov 27, (Agencies): Paul Rudd is reflecting on the rigorous diet and exercise regimen he underwent to attain the superhero physique required for the 'Ant-Man' movies. The 54-year-old actor confessed that his eating plan was so "restrictive" that his "reward" was a simple indulgence in sparkling water.
Describing the severity of his diet, Rudd humorously recalled, "That's how horrible that diet was. It was like, 'Oh, alright, I'm going to have some sparkling water now. I've earned it. Train, work out … so I was having a lot of sparkling water." He even playfully mentioned his preference for Pellegrino due to its "softer carbonation," jokingly suggesting that too much fizz might have disastrous consequences at his 'Ant-Man' size.
When questioned about whether the sparkling water genuinely felt like a treat, Rudd affirmed, "Yeah, it was great," adding, "It wasn't flavored — I wasn't going to go crazy. But it was a treat."
Rudd went on to explain that he surprisingly adapted well to his low-calorie diet, noting, "Once you're in it, it's actually not too hard. And I think you guys can guess that I'm okay with having really boring food over and over again. You get into the groove of it." Additionally, he expressed amazement at discovering that lighter meals left him feeling energized, describing the sensation of waking up with abundant energy as a new and positive experience.
