LOS ANGELES, Nov 20, (Agencies): In a devastating turn of events, two Taylor Swift fans lost their lives over the weekend, casting a somber shadow over the pop star’s Eras Tour show at Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Gabriel Milhomem Santos, a 25-year-old devoted fan, was fatally stabbed just hours before he was set to attend the concert. Reports suggest that the incident occurred as he rested on Copacabana beach in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Gabriel, described as cheerful and studious by his family, had traveled from Belo Horizonte to Rio de Janeiro to fulfill his dream of seeing Taylor Swift perform live. Tragically, he was attacked by three men while taking a swim with his cousins on Copacabana beach. The assault took place as Gabriel dozed off and abruptly woke up in the middle of the attack.

This heart-wrenching incident follows the death of another Taylor Swift fan, 23-year-old Ana Clara Benevides, who reportedly suffered cardiac arrest at the concert on Friday night. She was rushed to the hospital but passed away an hour later.

Gabriel’s family plans to lay him to rest in his hometown in the western state of Mato Grosso do Sul. In a poignant tribute, he will be buried in the clothes he had specially made for Taylor Swift’s concert.

Taylor Swift, yet to comment on Gabriel’s tragic death, expressed her grief over Ana Clara’s passing on Instagram. She shared a heartfelt message, expressing disbelief and extending her condolences to the young fan’s family and friends. The singer conveyed her sorrow, emphasizing that such a tragic incident was the last thing she expected when bringing her tour to Brazil.
