Scientists at Maikop State Technological University in Russia have secured a patent for an innovative adhesive tape designed for wound healing, featuring a blend of pectin and collagen.

This tape has demonstrated remarkable efficacy in not only expediting the recovery of wounds but also in the treatment of older wounds and hastening regeneration processes while safeguarding against secondary infections. Rigorous testing at Adygea Hospital, under the supervision of specialized doctors and surgeons, has substantiated the tape's effectiveness.

According to the university's media office, the adhesive tape, when applied to a wound, creates a complete barrier between the wound and its external environment. The pectin's antibacterial and antioxidant properties play a crucial role in cleansing the wound. Additionally, collagen facilitates the rapid formation of granulation tissue, aloe vera serves as an analgesic and antiseptic, promoting tissue regeneration, and glycerin imparts plasticity to the tape, ensuring its integrity throughout use. This groundbreaking tape represents a significant advancement in wound care technology.
