Saudi Volleyball Federation appoints Dr. Abdullah Taleb as statistician

JEDDAH, Oct 15: The Saudi Volleyball Federation has appointed Dr. Abdullah Taleb, the statistician for Kuwait Volleyball Club and the national team, to work at the 2025 Saudi Volleyball Federation Cup in Dammam. Dr. Taleb’s extensive experience in volleyball statistics has been instrumental in developing the sport at both Kuwait Club and the national team level.

Dr. Taleb expressed his gratitude to Kuwait Club President Khaled Al-Ghanem, the board members, and volleyball director Mohammed Al-Otaibi for facilitating his assignment. He also thanked the Saudi Volleyball Federation for trusting him with the role of Head of the Statistics Committee and said he hoped to meet their expectations.

Previously, Dr. Taleb served as assistant coach and statistician for Al-Arabi Club (2011–2017) and for Kazma Club in 2014, helping those secure league and cup titles. That same year, he represented Al-Qadsia in the Gulf Championship in Bahrain. He has also contributed to national teams from 2013 to 2023 and has been with Kuwait Club since 2019 in the same capacity.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Club is covering medical treatment for player Abdulaziz Najm in the UAE. Najm sustained a severe cartilage tear during training and traveled to Dubai for treatment. He is expected to be out for around six weeks.

Najm thanked the club’s management for covering his treatment and expressed his hope for a quick return to the court.

In the ongoing Saudi Volleyball Federation Cup, Burgan defeated Al-Yarmouk 3–0, and Al-Arabi beat Al-Sulaibikhat 3–1. Today, Al-Shabab faces Burgan, while Kazma plays against Al-Arabi.
