RIYADH, June 30: Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) has arrested a Pakistani national for allegedly trafficking methamphetamine, also known as "shabu," in Arabic in a targeted security operation.

According to the Ministry of Interior, anti-narcotics teams carried out the operation following precise intelligence and field surveillance. The suspect was apprehended while in possession of approximately 1.7 kilograms of methamphetamine.

A GDNC official said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat drug smuggling and distribution networks across the Kingdom.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing individuals and organizations involved in narcotics trafficking and urged the public to report any drug-related activities.
