Saudi Mufti: Ramadan, Eid prayers at home to counter COVID-19

RIYADH, April 17 (KUNA) — The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh said, Friday, that Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers during the Holy Month of Ramadan as well as Eid Al-Adha prayers are preferred to be performed at home to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).


According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he explained that if it is impossible to perform Taraweeh and Eid prayers in the mosques because of the precautionary measures, then people should pray at their homes during these trying times.


This came in his answers to a number of questions and inquiries on Ramadan in light of the continuing pandemic.
