RIYADH, Nov 8 : The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said Sunday that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Houthi group toward the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said the missiles were intercepted before reaching their intended targets.
“Air defenses intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward Riyadh,” Al-Maliki said in a statement posted on X.
The announcement came just hours after the coalition reported intercepting another ballistic missile allegedly fired by the Houthis toward Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.
The latest incidents come amid continued military escalation between the Saudi-led coalition and Yemen’s Houthi group, with repeated missile and drone attacks being launched toward Saudi territory.
No immediate information was released regarding casualties or damage from the latest missile interceptions.
