RIYADH, Oct 23: Saudi Arabia’s Joint Forces have categorically rejected claims circulated by Yemen’s Houthi militia alleging threats by the Kingdom to target tribal and civilian gatherings, describing the allegations as baseless and false.
In a statement issued Thursday, October 22, the Joint Forces said the claims were part of ongoing attempts to mislead public opinion, divert attention from the militia’s crises and practices, and draw Yemeni tribes into conflicts.
The statement stressed that Yemeni tribes remain an integral part of the country’s social and historical fabric and serve as a bridge of brotherhood and communication between the Saudi and Yemeni peoples.
It said the two peoples share deep-rooted ties based on religion, geography, history and a common destiny, which cannot be undermined by misinformation campaigns or attempts to create divisions and hostility.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its commitment to Yemen’s security and stability and to preserving its longstanding fraternal relations with the Yemeni people.
The Kingdom also emphasized the importance of protecting the interests of both peoples and preventing the exploitation of Yemeni tribes or their involvement in conflicts that undermine Yemenis’ aspirations for security, peace and development.
The statement concluded by asserting that the bonds between the Saudi and Yemeni peoples would remain strong despite attempts to sow discord and division.
The statement was issued by the Saudi Joint Forces on Thursday, corresponding to 22 October 2026
