RIYADH, Oct 13: Saudi Arabia’s National Early Warning Platform has issued a warning of potential danger in the Eastern Province, urging residents to remain calm, seek immediate shelter and follow instructions issued by the competent authorities.

The alert advises people to proceed to the nearest safe place, preferably inside a building or an interior room away from windows, and remain there until the danger has passed.

Residents have been instructed not to leave their homes or buildings while the warning remains in effect and to stay away from open areas, windows, glass, balconies and rooftops.

People who are outdoors should enter the nearest building or take shelter behind a solid barrier. The public has also been urged to avoid crowds and potentially dangerous areas and refrain from taking photographs.

Motorists who receive the warning while driving should pull over to the side of the road at a safe location, away from bridges and high-rise buildings.

The platform advised anyone who notices a danger to contact emergency services on 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and 998 in the rest of the Kingdom.

Residents have been urged to follow updates and instructions issued by the relevant authorities through official channels.
