RIYADH, Mar 16: Saudi Arabia’s air defense systems intercepted and destroyed several hostile drones across different areas of the Kingdom, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense said. According to the statement, seven drones were shot down in the Eastern Region, while eight more were intercepted in the same area in separate operations.
The spokesperson added that two drones were also destroyed in Al-Kharj Governorate, where air defenses had earlier intercepted and downed 11 drones over the past few hours. Authorities said the interceptions were carried out as part of ongoing efforts to counter aerial threats and safeguard the Kingdom’s airspace.
