Entrepreneurs from G20 countries start their Jagriti Startup20 train journey across India in Mumbai on Oct. 28, 2023.

NEW DELHI, India, Nov 1, (Agencies): Saudi entrepreneurs embarked on an extensive 8,000-kilometer train expedition across India, aiming to collaborate with innovators from G20 nations and strengthen ties with Indian startups. The journey, known as Jagriti Startup G20 Yatra 2023, comprises a group of 60 delegates from G20 countries and Indian participants affiliated with the Startup20 engagement group, which operates under the Indian presidency of the G20.

Commencing in Mumbai, this round trip will traverse 11 Indian cities before concluding on November 10. Saudi startup incubator HealthGena is one of the co-organizers of this journey, and its project manager, Alaa Hanifah, views it as a distinctive opportunity to foster relationships with Indian entrepreneurs while exploring potential business ventures, partnerships, and investment prospects in India’s technology, sustainable development, and e-commerce sectors.

Hanifah noted the enriching experience of the journey, which included spontaneous pitch sessions onboard, allowing entrepreneurs to showcase their startups and receive valuable feedback from their peers. Participants, including five individuals from Saudi Arabia, are eager to leverage this platform to gain insights into different business models, learn from fellow entrepreneurs’ experiences, and discover opportunities for partnerships or investments.

Abdulmajeed Al-Yaseen, the Strategy and Business Operation Director at Salasa, a Riyadh-based shipping and logistics company, emphasized the value of interacting with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and the potential for collaborations with Indian entrepreneurs. He expressed his interest in technology and AI but remained open to exploring various opportunities during the journey.

Jagriti Yatra, a non-profit organization from the Indian side, previously signed a cooperation agreement with HealthGena during the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance Summit in New Delhi in July. This collaboration seeks to promote Indian-Saudi entrepreneurship and facilitate cross-border partnerships between entrepreneurs from both regions.

The journey, spanning 14 days, allows young entrepreneurs to forge connections, expand their networks, and participate in workshops and lectures. Notably, this year’s journey marks the first time it has included a substantial number of foreign participants. Selection criteria are based on the participants’ entrepreneurial journey and their willingness to engage with entrepreneurship. Rahul Kumar, the organization’s media head, highlighted the enthusiasm among Indian participants to engage in the Saudi Arabian entrepreneurship ecosystem and welcomed the diverse participation from G20 nations.

In summary, the Jagriti Startup G20 Yatra 2023 provides a unique platform for entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia and other G20 nations to connect, collaborate, and explore business opportunities in India’s thriving entrepreneurial landscape.
