RIYADH, Sept 3: Saudi Sitting and Wheelchair Sports Federation President Khalid Masoud Al-Hajri paid an official visit to the Kuwait Paralympic Committee to learn about Kuwait’s experience in wheelchair fencing and explore opportunities to benefit from its expertise in establishing the sport in Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, Al-Hajri met Kuwait’s technical director and team coach, Captain Khaled Abdulnabi, and attended part of the national wheelchair fencing team’s training session. He was briefed on the international rules and regulations governing the sport, as well as the requirements for preparing facilities and providing specialized equipment.

Abdulnabi also explained the technical procedures used to develop athletes and prepare them for international competitions.

The visit reflects Kuwait’s extensive experience in wheelchair fencing, making it the only Gulf country currently practicing the sport. It also highlights the regional recognition of the Kuwait Paralympic Committee’s role in advancing sports for people with disabilities.
