Saudi fashion designer Mohammed Ashi

SAUDI ARABI, Oct 4, (Agencies): Mohammed Ashi, the Saudi designer and founder of the Paris-based label Ashi Studio, achieved a significant milestone recently as he became the first designer from the Kingdom to be featured in the prestigious BoF 500 list, compilation by the Business of Fashion recognizing influential figures shaping the fashion industry.

Ashi Studio shared this momentous news on Instagram, expressing their gratitude: “Ashi is honored to be the first Saudi designer to enter the #BOF500… thank you @imranamed @bof for including us in the class of 2023, alongside the creative leaders in the fashion industry.”

Seventeen years ago, Ashi embarked on his journey by establishing his eponymous fashion house. Over the years, his exquisite designs have graced numerous celebrities, including Beyonce, Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Demi Lovato, Fergie, and Ava DuVernay.

Ashi has always taken pride in his Saudi heritage, often drawing inspiration from it for his designs. In his own words, “I am incredibly proud of my Saudi roots.”

Additionally, Rami Al-Ali, a Middle Eastern designer, joined Ashi on the BoF 500 list, becoming the first Syrian designer to be recognized in this prestigious lineup.
