RIYADH, Jun 8: Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has urged the public to remain calm and strictly follow official instructions if they receive alerts from the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies. Authorities advised residents to immediately move to the nearest safe location inside a building, preferably an interior room away from windows, and remain sheltered until the danger has passed.
The Civil Defense stressed the importance of staying away from open areas, balconies, rooftops, windows, and glass. Individuals outdoors were instructed to enter the nearest building or seek protection behind a solid barrier. Motorists who receive warning messages while driving should safely pull over away from bridges and high-rise buildings.
Authorities also called on the public to avoid crowds, refrain from visiting dangerous areas, and not take photographs of emergency situations. Citizens and residents were advised to follow updates only through official channels and report any imminent danger by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 998 in the rest of the Kingdom.
