RIYADH, Apr 4: Authorities in Saudi Arabia have issued an emergency advisory outlining safety measures for residents who receive alerts through the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies.
The advisory urges the public to remain calm and strictly follow official instructions. Residents are advised to immediately move to the nearest safe location—preferably inside a building or an interior room away from windows—and remain there until the danger has passed. Authorities stressed that individuals should not leave their homes or shelters during active warnings.
The guidance also calls on people to avoid open areas, windows, balconies, and rooftops, while those outdoors should seek shelter in the nearest building or behind solid barriers. Motorists who receive alerts while driving are instructed to safely pull over away from bridges and high-rise structures.
In addition, officials warned against تجمعات and visiting potentially dangerous areas, emphasizing the importance of not taking photos during emergencies. Citizens are encouraged to report any immediate danger by calling 911 in regions including Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 998 in other areas.
The Saudi Civil Defense reiterated the importance of following updates issued through official channels including its official platforms such as 998.gov.sa, to ensure public safety during emergency situations.
