RIYAD / ABU DHABI / MANAMA, Apr 2: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain reported early Thursday that their defense systems had responded to incoming Iranian missile and drone threats.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence said it intercepted and destroyed a drone followed by a ballistic missile targeting the eastern region of the kingdom.
Authorities in the UAE and Bahrain confirmed that warning sirens were activated, urging residents to move to safe locations while defense forces handled the situation. Officials later said falling debris from intercepted projectiles led to the temporary closure of a road, with no immediate reports of major damage.
The incidents come amid heightened regional tensions, as Gulf states remain on alert against potential cross-border threats.
