RIYADH, Sept 2: Saudi Arabia is gearing up to host the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from November 7 to 21, 2025. The event will bring together over 3,000 athletes from 57 Islamic countries, competing across 23 sports, including athletics, swimming, 3×3 basketball, handball, volleyball, table tennis, futsal, fencing, karate, judo, wushu, taekwondo, boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, weightlifting, equestrian events, camel racing, duathlon, e-sports, as well as para-athletics and para-weightlifting.
The Islamic Solidarity Games are the third-largest multi-sport event in the world, after the Olympics and the Asian Games, providing a major platform to celebrate unity, sportsmanship, and friendly competition among the Islamic world.
The Games have a rich history: the first edition was held in Saudi Arabia in 2005, while the second edition in Iran (2009) was canceled due to organizational issues. Subsequent editions took place in Indonesia (2013), Azerbaijan (2017), and Turkey (2021).
