Saudi Arabia takes on Egypt in a friendly as preparations for the World Cup intensify

JEDDAH, March 26: The Saudi national team will host Egypt tonight at 8:30 PM at Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, in an international friendly as both sides gear up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The friendly has seen adjustments to its timing and accommodation arrangements. Egypt will compete in Group G at the World Cup alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand, a group that promises balanced yet challenging competition.

Saudi Arabia, led by French coach Hervé Renard, will play its second friendly in Belgrade against Serbia on March 31. The Green Falcons are drawn in Group H of the World Cup alongside Spain, Uruguay, and Cape Verde.

Meanwhile, Argentina will take on Mauritania at 2:30 AM Saturday at La Bombonera Stadium in Buenos Aires.

The match has generated controversy over ticket prices, with fans on social media complaining about costs ranging from €56 to €302. However, the presence of Lionel Messi in the squad has driven a surge in ticket sales.

This game, followed by another friendly against Zambia, will mark Messi’s final appearances before the World Cup. Fans’ excitement remains high despite ticket concerns, reflecting the immense anticipation for watching the three-time World Cup champions in action.

In addition to the match, the Argentine Football Association has organized a special fan show after the game, featuring two entertainment segments. La Bombonera is expected to be packed with roughly 57,200 fans, all eager to witness Messi and his teammates in what promises to be a memorable spectacle.
