RIYADH, Sept 11: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy said the East-West Pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah regions was shut down as a precaution after being targeted in multiple attacks on Thursday morning, Sept 10.
An official source at the Ministry said the attacks resulted in several injuries, with medical care provided to those affected.
Emergency and specialised technical teams responded immediately after the attacks, taking necessary measures to secure the pipeline and assess its safety, the source said.
The response was carried out in coordination with the relevant authorities and in accordance with approved safety procedures and emergency response plans.
The Ministry said any further developments would be announced in due course.
