KUALA LUMPUR, July 30: Saudi Arabia will continue to host the AFC Champions League Elite Finals until 2029 after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed the extension of the hosting rights following the success of the previous two editions.
The Kingdom staged the knockout rounds of the 2025 and 2026 tournaments in Jeddah, with the competition’s decisive matches from the quarter-finals to the final held there as part of what the AFC describes as the “finals.”
In its announcement, the AFC confirmed that the provisional hosting agreement granted to the Saudi Arabian Football Federation in December 2023 has now been made permanent for the next three seasons.
The decision means Saudi Arabia will host the AFC Champions League Elite Finals for the 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29 campaigns, building on the successful organisation of the 2024-25 and 2025-26 editions.
