RIYADH, Sept 22: Saudi Arabia has restarted its East-West oil pipeline and could resume crude exports from the Red Sea port of Yanbu later on Tuesday, Reuters reported, citing three sources briefed on the matter.
The pipeline was operating at a low rate, according to two sources. Drone attacks on September 13 forced Saudi Arabia to shut the pipeline, resulting in the suspension of crude oil loadings at Yanbu, Reuters reported.
The East-West pipeline, which transports crude from Saudi Arabia’s eastern oil fields to the Red Sea, provides an alternative route for exports that would otherwise pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
