NEW YORK, Sept 23: Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed a mutual visa-exemption agreement covering holders of diplomatic and special passports, following talks between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The agreement provides for mutual exemption from short-stay visa requirements for eligible diplomatic and special passport holders and is intended to facilitate official travel, strengthen coordination and expand cooperation between the two countries.
During their meeting, Prince Faisal and Dar reviewed bilateral cooperation and discussed regional developments, including efforts to contain tensions through diplomatic solutions. The two ministers also reaffirmed the importance of continued high-level exchanges and coordination on issues of mutual interest.
Dar said the agreement would further facilitate high-level engagement and institutional exchanges between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and contribute to strengthening their strategic partnership
