RIYADH, Mar 8: Saudi air defense forces intercepted and destroyed two drones in separate incidents north of Riyadh, officials confirmed on Sunday.
Earlier, another hostile drone was detected heading toward the Shaybah oil field in the eastern region. It was intercepted and destroyed in an arid area before reaching its target.
Authorities did not immediately disclose the origin of the drones, but investigations are underway. No injuries or damage were reported in either incident. The attempted attacks come amid heightened regional tensions and increased monitoring of aerial threats targeting vital infrastructure.
