Saudi Arabia Issues Safety Guidelines for Emergency Warning Alerts

RIYADH, Mar 14: Saudi authorities have issued safety guidelines for the public on how to respond when receiving alerts from the National Emergency Early Warning Platform, urging residents to remain calm and follow official instructions.

In the advisory, the Saudi Civil Defense said individuals who receive warning messages should immediately move to a safe indoor location away from windows and remain there until the danger has passed.

The guidelines also advise people not to leave their homes or buildings during emergencies, avoid open areas and glass, and refrain from standing on balconies or rooftops. Those outside are urged to enter the nearest building or take shelter behind solid cover.

Authorities also warned against gathering at incident locations or taking photographs, stressing the importance of staying away from potentially dangerous sites.

Drivers who receive warning messages while on the road are advised to pull over safely away from bridges and tall buildings until conditions improve.

Residents are encouraged to report any danger by calling 911 in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and Eastern regions, and 998 in the rest of the Kingdom, and to rely only on information issued through official channels.

Officials emphasized that adhering to these guidelines helps ensure public safety and supports emergency response operations during critical situations.
