RIYADH, Oct 12: Saudi Arabia’s National Early Warning Platform has issued a warning in Riyadh, alerting residents to a potential danger and urging them to immediately seek shelter and follow official safety instructions.
Residents have been advised to remain calm and move to the nearest safe place, preferably inside a building or an interior room away from windows. They have been told to remain indoors until the danger has passed and avoid open areas, glass windows, balconies and rooftops.
People outdoors should enter the nearest building or take shelter behind a solid barrier. Those who receive the warning while driving have been instructed to pull over safely, away from bridges and high-rise buildings.
Authorities have also urged residents to avoid crowds and potentially dangerous areas and refrain from taking photographs. The public has been advised to follow updates and instructions issued through official channels.
Anyone who notices danger should call 911 in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and Eastern provinces, or 998 in other regions of the Kingdom.
The warning did not specify the nature of the potential danger.
