RIYADH, March 21: Air defense systems in Saudi Arabia successfully intercepted and destroyed multiple drones targeting the Kingdom’s eastern region, authorities confirmed on Saturday.
According to initial reports, one drone was first intercepted earlier in the day. This was followed by another incident about an hour later, during which two additional drones were shot down. In a separate development, yet another drone was also intercepted and destroyed in the same region.
The repeated interceptions highlight a series of attempted aerial incursions within a short span of time, all of which were neutralized before reaching their intended targets.
Officials have not yet disclosed further details regarding the origin of the drones or any potential damage or casualties. However, the situation underscores ongoing security concerns in the region amid heightened tensions.
