RIYADH, Mar 13: Saudi Arabia’s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 45 drones overnight and during the early morning hours, according to a series of statements issued by the Saudi Ministry of Defence.
The ministry said the interceptions occurred across several regions of the Kingdom in multiple operations. Air defence units first shot down three drones in the Eastern and Central Provinces, followed by four drones intercepted in the same regions.
Additional interceptions were reported in the Eastern Province, where three drones, six drones, and one drone were destroyed in separate incidents.
The ministry also reported that Saudi air defence systems intercepted seven drones, nine drones, and twelve drones after they entered the Kingdom’s airspace.
In total, 45 drones were destroyed, with authorities confirming that all aerial threats were successfully intercepted and no damage or casualties were reported. Saudi officials said the operations were part of ongoing measures to safeguard the Kingdom’s airspace and maintain regional security.
