RIYADH, April 25: Saudi authorities have announced a financial penalty of up to 100,000 riyals for individuals who apply for visit visas of any type for persons who perform or attempt to perform Hajj without an official permit, or who enter or remain in Makkah and the holy sites in violation of regulations.
The authorities said the fines will be multiplied depending on the number of individuals covered under such visa applications who attempt or succeed in performing Hajj without authorization.
The measure is part of efforts to enforce Hajj regulations and prevent unauthorized pilgrimage activities in Makkah and the holy sites.
Officials also urged the public to report violations by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 in other regions of the Kingdom. They emphasized that all reports will be treated with strict confidentiality and without liability for the informant.
