RIYADH, Oct 12: Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has extended the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to complete safety checks and verify the operational readiness of airport facilities.
In a statement issued on Monday, GACA said the extension was intended to allow the necessary procedures to be completed in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The announcement comes following recent attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport, which caused casualties and material damage, amid escalating Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.
GACA did not specify how long the suspension would remain in effect.
