Saudi Arabia Extends Expired Visit Visas, Waives Fees Amid Regional Situation
Saudi Arabia is cutting back generous salary premiums for foreign workers as it shifts economic priorities.

RIYADH, March 25: The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced measures to assist holders of all types of visit visas—including Umrah, transit, and final exit visas—whose visas expired on or after February 25, 2026, and who were unable to leave the Kingdom due to the ongoing regional situation.

In line with directives from the Kingdom’s leadership, expired visas can now be extended until April 18, 2026, upon request by the visitor’s host, with statutory fees payable through the Absher platform.

Alternatively, visa holders are allowed to depart directly through international ports of entry without extending their visas or paying any fees or overstay fines.

The Ministry urged all beneficiaries to complete their departure before April 18, 2026, to avoid being subject to standard regulations applied to violators.

The announcement underscores Saudi Arabia’s efforts to provide flexibility and support to foreign visitors during extraordinary circumstances.
