Saudi Arabia Executes Two Saudi Nationals Convicted of Terrorism

RIYADH, Apr 9: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday the execution of two Saudi nationals convicted of multiple terrorism-related offenses, including involvement in deadly attacks against security forces.

The ministry said Mustafa bin Ali bin Saleh Al-Subaiti and Ali bin Hassan bin Ali Al-Subaiti were found guilty of joining a foreign terrorist organization, participating in the manufacture of explosives, possessing weapons, and carrying out attacks that resulted in the killing and assault of security personnel. The charges also included targeting security facilities and harboring individuals involved in acts of killing, kidnapping, and concealing victims’ bodies.

According to the statement, security authorities arrested the two suspects following investigations that led to their prosecution before a competent court. The court issued a death sentence under discretionary punishment after confirming the charges, and the ruling was later upheld on appeal and by the Supreme Court.

A royal decree was subsequently issued to enforce the sentence, which was carried out on April 9, 2026, in the Eastern Province.

The Ministry of Interior said the executions underscore the Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining security and enforcing justice under Islamic law against those who threaten public safety and engage in acts of terrorism.

The ministry also warned that anyone involved in similar crimes would face strict legal consequences.
