Saudi Air Defenses Intercept Drones and Missiles in Eastern Region

RIYADH, Mar 17: Air defense systems in Saudi Arabia successfully intercepted and destroyed multiple aerial threats across the Eastern Region over the past few hours, according to official updates.

A total of 17 drones were shot down in separate incidents across the Eastern Province, reflecting continued attempts to target the area. In addition, a ballistic missile launched toward Al-Kharj Governorate was also intercepted and destroyed before reaching its target.

Authorities confirmed that the interceptions were carried out efficiently, with no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage. The incidents come amid heightened regional tensions, with Saudi defense forces maintaining high alert and readiness to counter ongoing aerial threats.
