KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: The investigations are still ongoing in the so-called Salwa murder case in which two Kuwaitis — one of them a member of the ruling family — and an Indonesian maid were gunned down by the suspects from close range for still unclear motives, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to security sources, the two Iranian suspects (although earlier it was reported that an Iranian and a bedoun were arrested) who are in police custody allegedly bought the weapons from an unidentified employee of the Hawalli Traffic Department for KD 800 with the help of an intermediary who also works for the same department.

The daily added, the two ‘accomplices’ to the murder have since been arrested and during interrogation they have allegedly admitted to the charges filed against them.

Earlier an Interior Ministry statement had said the victims were gunned down in Salwa about 3:00 am Friday, Nov 25, 2016.

The earlier report also said the corpses of the victims were found in an apartment and the police were led to the scene of the crime by an Indian, who was also shot in the back but survived the attack.

Mystery still surrounds how and why the Indian was shot particularly since the victims who were found murdered were gagged and feet and hands tied behind their backs.

One of the deceased, a member of the ruling family, is believed to be 58 years old, the other deceased Kuwaiti, as S.N.B.O, 68 years old and a 46-year-old Indonesian maid identified only as H.Y.B. The 45-year-old Indian who survived the attack is identified only as S.M.M.

One of the victims was shot in the neck, the other in the face and the woman was shot in the mouth. The victims appear to have been shot from a point blank range.
