KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: Salmiya’s Libyan professional player, Al-Senussi Al-Hadi, unveiled the team’s ambitious project to contend for the Zain Premier League title, emphasizing their aspiration to win every match in pursuit of this objective. Following their recent victory over Al-Shabab with a single goal by Mahdi Dashti, Al-Senussi expressed the team’s commitment to giving their best, fueled by the positive energy gained from reaching the Amir’s Cup final.

Despite a close win against Al-Shabab, propelling them to fourth place with 23 points, Al-Senussi acknowledged the challenging task ahead. Salmiya’s Deputy Head of the Football Staff, Yousef Al-Jassem, highlighted the importance of the victory over Al-Shabab, aiming to narrow the points difference with the leading teams by the end of the second round.

Assistant coach of the youth team, Malek John, remained optimistic about future matches, stating that the match result did not reflect the team’s effort. He attributed the challenges faced by recently contracted players to time constraints and their need for better integration with the team.

In Al-Arabi, relief enveloped the club after securing a resounding six-point victory over Al-Jahra in the latest league round. With this triumph, Al-Arabi surged to 36 points at the league’s summit, while Al-Jahra languished at the bottom with two points and no victories in the current season.

Mishal Al-Abakal, the team’s media coordinator, commended the team’s resilience and quick recovery, praising the efforts of players and the entire technical and administrative staff. Al-Abakal emphasized the significance of defeating Al-Jahra despite their challenges, expressing confidence in Al-Akhdar’s ability to delight fans by season-end.

Addressing the absence of player Abdul Rahman Al-Dhafiri from the match, it was clarified that coach Darko opted for Ali Aziz due to regulations restricting the use of players born in Kuwait. Jahra player Othman Al-Shammari acknowledged his team’s performance and expressed optimism about future improvements, while acknowledging the clarity of Jahra’s situation within the sports community and among fans.
