KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: Hawally Security Directorate support patrols successfully thwarted a drug trafficking operation by arresting a taxi driver involved in transporting and distributing narcotics. The suspect was found in possession of 74 sachets of methamphetamine, all packaged and ready for sale.

According to a security source, a patrol in the Salmiya area became suspicious of a taxi. When the driver noticed the officers, he attempted to flee but was promptly stopped. Appearing nervous and confused, he was subjected to a precautionary search, which uncovered the methamphetamine hidden in a bag inside the vehicle.

The driver admitted to distributing drugs for money, using his taxi as a cover to evade suspicion and exploit the normal flow of taxi traffic in residential and commercial areas.

All seized narcotics were confiscated, and the suspect was transferred to the General Department for Drug Control for further investigation.
