Sakkakini joins Kuwait Club as Kazma signs Hinton

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 12:Kuwait Club has added Palestinian center Suny Sakkakini to its senior basketball roster ahead of the WASL West Asia Finals, which will be held in Beirut, Lebanon, from September 25 to October 1.

Sakkakini, a center, brings extensive experience in Arab and Asian basketball. He began his career in 2007 and has represented several clubs across the region, making him a strong addition to Kuwait Club ahead of their continental campaign.

His arrival completes Kuwait Club’s quota of four foreign players under WASL regulations, with three permitted to play in each game.

Kuwait Club was drawn in Group A alongside Lebanon’s Al Riyadi, Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad and India’s Railways. Group B comprises Saudi Arabia’s AlUla, Lebanon’s Sagesse, Qatar’s Al Arabi and Iran’s Shahrdari.

Meanwhile, Kazma has bolstered its squad by signing American-Syrian guard Amir Hinton for its upcoming commitments.

Hinton, born in Pennsylvania in 1997 and holding Syrian citizenship, plays point guard and is known for his pace, skill, and shooting from beyond the arc. His signing is expected to strengthen Kazma as it prepares for the new season and looks to compete on multiple fronts.

Last season’s competitions were suspended in February due to regional developments and are scheduled to resume at the end of October with the final stage of the preliminary round, followed by the semifinals featuring Kuwait Club, Qadsia, Kazma and Al-Qurain.

Kazma will also take part in the Arab Club Championship in October.
